Message of the President of Nam Shun Fooy Koon
5th January 2022
Hope this letter finds you well. 2021 is a thing of the past and 2022 is already here. As you are aware, we have been living with the covid-19 for nearly two years now. It has disrupted our lives and unfortunately, we will have to continue to live with it until the World Health Organisation hopefully could find a conclusive solution. Let us pray that our country will take the appropriate measures to overcome the problems inherent to this pandemic.
Following the Annual General Meeting held on the 13th of November 2021, we now have a new Executive Committee to manage Nam Shun Fooy Koon. The Executive Committee has a blend of some past and newly elected members and I have been chosen to preside over its destiny. It is a difficult task that awaits us but I am pretty confident that together with my team, we will rise to the challenge.
It is an honour and also a great responsibility to be the President of Nam Shun Fooy Koon. The last time we had a woman presiding Nam Shun Fooy Koon dates back to more than two decades ago. I joined Nam Shun Fooy Koon in 2014 as an associate member of the Executive Committee because I wanted to give a helping hand to the Nam Shun Community and to contribute to its advancement. I learnt a lot under the presidency of Laval Chan She Ping and Philippe Fok Kan during these past seven years and I was privileged to see its continuous evolution.
Many Executive Committees have preceded us since 1859 and have all left their footprints. My team and I will work hard to preserve the goodwill of Nam Shun Fooy Koon and we will see to it that it continues to be so.
We need your commitment and dedication to Nam Shun Fooy Koon for this task. You are invited to submit any suggestions you feel may contribute to this end to the Secretary of Nam Shun Fooy Koon, Francoise Easton, at herewith email address email@example.com
In a few weeks, we will be celebrating the Year of the Tiger. I associate myself with my colleagues of the Executive Committee to wish you happiness, good health and well-being from the bottom of my heart. 恭喜發財! Kung Hei Fat Choy!
